PBA Announces FREE Tai Chi class for local Seniors

Plum Blossom Academy will be holding a Tai Chi for Health class specifically for Seniors on Wednesday mornings at 10am. The class will be FREE for local residents (to include surrounding towns) 65 and up.

We have been offering this class at the Littleton Council on Aging for over a year now but their facilities are not always available or Tai Chi friendly. Our new location allows us to hold the class on-site and is an excellent way for us to give back to the community. Please pass the word and we look forward to seeing you there.

Plum Blossom Academy announces NEW LOCATION!!!

We're very happy to announce that effective November 1st 2007 Plum Blossom Academy will be located at our new location - 222 Great Rd. Littleton, MA 01460.

This 2600 sq. ft. facility is brand new and made up of slate, bamboo, and wood. We're in the process of wrapping up the fit-out now and should be open on schedule. Please stop by and join us for this remarkable experience.

Plum Blossom Traditional Kung Fu Academy

Today was our first official day as the 'Plum Blossom Traditional Kung Fu Academy'.

The 'Plum Blossom' is an auspicious symbol in Chinese culture due to its ability to blossom in the early spring when the trees branches are still covered in snow. Often you will see paintings of the plum flower depicted with snow, this is no error on the part of the artist. This flower is symbolic of 'strength through adversity' or 'overcoming hardships', and has great meaning to me. I thought it an appropriate choice for the name of our school.

It was 3 years ago that Bruce and I started this school together. It wasn't easy and we met many hardships along the way, but it has turned into a great success and we've enjoyed the process and getting to know all of you. Some have come and gone but most of you have been here since the beginning or shortly thereafter and continue to put hard work into your training.

This is an exciting time for us and we look forward to the direction of the school, and sharing its success with you well into the future. Thank you all for your continued support.

San Diego Trip pt 3

I recently returned from my 3rd trip to San Diego working with Shifu Puyot. It was a great weekend getting my fill of material and knowledge. We were able to accomplish a ton of things, and Shifu's wife made some excellent meals to keep our energy levels up. Unfortunately the temperatures were a record breaking cold! There were pipes freezing and bursting everywhere. I can only surmise that it was caused by the large influx of New England Patriots fans going there to watch the game, or it was a crucial strategy in getting the Chargers to succumb to the Patriots - freeze them on their home turf and soften em up for defeat.

We spent Friday working on forms, application, and fighting. Saturday we were training in Balboa Park in downtown S.D. with Shixiong Dasargo and his students. Shixiong was again very helpful and a great pleasure to work with. We later enjoyed a great meal of Garlic Chicken, Fresh made noodles, and other delights along with some shopping for Chinese Art and Herb stores. Saturday evening and Sunday we worked on 5th Son Staff and Staff fighting techniques. A great weekend!

I would like to publicly thank Shifu and Shixiong and the rest of our west coast family for all their efforts and support. Our school is benefiting and will continue to benefit long into the future from their knowledge and experience!
